Andrew and Maria Schwartz (Tera)
Associate Director
I saw the evidence of God through the lives of my family and friends from early childhood, and eventually began to follow Him in the fall of 1997 during my freshman year of college at UNC Charlotte. I am originally from Shelby, NC and lived there until the 8th grade. After living in the Georgetown area of South Carolina during my high s
chool years, I returned to North Carolina to attend college in Charlotte. After giving my life to Jesus, I quickly began growing in my faith through Campus Outreach. As I followed Jesus he taught me how to fish for men and I knew that I wanted my career to involve fishing for men. I graduated in May 2002 with a degree in Public Relations, and moved to Davidson College to take on the campus director role.
Maria is originally from Mt. Kisco, New York. She became a Christian her freshmen year of college through the influence of a peer while attending the Campus Outreach New Years Conference. After graduating from UNCC in 2001 with a BA Degree in Middle Grades Education, Maria went on staff with Campus Outreach at Elon University.
We
met during our freshman year of college but did not get to know each other until working together at the Summer Beach Project in 2000. We dated for two years and were married on June 28, 2003. Our first child, Tera, was born in Nov 2005. We are excited about living here in Virginia and fishing in a new pond.
