I was born in Brazil and moved to the States when I was eleven. I have always known what religion was, but never desired a relationship with Jesus. While in High School I looked for fulfillment in relationships and partying, but I was never satisfied. I went to college desiring to find purpose for my life, but never imagined what that was. Through a friendship with a senior named Lisa Ledford, I began to see what a Christ-centered life looked like, and it was a lot more appealing than I ever imagined! The reason Lisa was different is because she
really knew Jesus, and she lived a life full of freedom and joy. In September of my freshmen year I surrendered my life to Jesus and began to experience freedom from bondage and death.
I became involved in Campus Outreach by joining a Bible Study in my dorm, Holshouser Hall. I met a number of incredible people who knew where true joy was found. As the semesters went on at UNC-Charlotte, I continued to understand more about Jesus and His heart and began to fall in love with the hearts of students. One of the best ways I have ever experienced Him was by living selflessly for other students, and that is why
I am so excited about going to a new campus, and doing it full time - because I get to continually experience that through relationships I will soon embark on.
