How do I begin supporting a staff person? (back to questions)
There are a few ways. 1) You can obtain a pledge card from the staff person that you wish to support. 2) Contact James Broadaway in our Financial Office. Call 704-814-1052 or email jbroadaway@campusoutreach.org. Just let him know your name and contact info, the person you would like to support, and the amount you would like to pledge.

How much support is each staff person required to raise? (back to questions)
Each Campus Outreach staff person is responsible to raise 100% of his/her salary. Each staff member has a need-based salary that is approved by his/her supervisor and the Campus Outreach Board.

Who typically supports Campus Outreach staff? (back to questions)
Campus Outreach is supported financially from five primary sources:
- Interested individuals
- Businesses and Foundations
- Campus Outreach Alumni
- Other churches

What structures are in place to provide financial accountability? (back to questions)
- All financial matters are carefully overseen by a governing Board which is under the authority of Christ Covenant Church.
- Every supporter gift is allocated by the Campus Outreach Board to pay for all staff expenses. This commitment empowers Campus Outreach to focus its efforts on keeping trained and equipped staff on the collegiate campus year-round to evangelize and disciple students.
- All donations to Campus Outreach will be used for the ministry for which they were designated. In the event that the designated ministry receives more support than is needed and no longer needs the funds, the excess funds will be used to support other Campus Outreach ministry needs as deemed appropriate by the Campus Outreach Board.
- Campus Outreach, as a ministry of Christ Covenant Church, enjoys a 501C-3 tax status with the IRS, so gifts made to Campus Outreach are tax deductible as allowed under IRS guidelines.
- Campus Outreach's finances annually undergo the scrutiny of an independent auditing firm to insure complete compliance with current law.

It is always our intent to put each gift towards the support of the designated staff person.

Do Campus Outreach Staff receive any benefits? (back to questions)
Yes. Staff receive benefits including health insurance, life insurance, and dental coverage, as well as an option to invest in a 401k retirement plan. The funds that cover insurance and retirement are included in each staff person's support goal.

When are the monthly support statements sent out? (back to questions)
We always mail the monthly statements/receipts within the first week of each month. These statements show any gifts that we received before the end of the previous month.

I support a Campus Outreach Virginia Expansion staff person, but I am receiving mail from Campus Outreach Charlotte. Is this normal? (back to questions)
Yes. Campus Outreach Virginia Expansion is currently a subsidiary of Campus Outreach Charlotte. CO Charlotte is serving COVE by providing services such as support mail outs, administrative services, and financial processing.

Can I pay electronically? (back to questions)
Yes! Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is a computerized system used by banks, organizations, and individuals to transfer funds directly from one bank account into another without the use of checks or other paper processes. With EFT you save time and money by not having to write checks, purchase stamps, or make trips to the post office. Click here to sign up for EFT.

We are currently working on a way to accept Credit Card payments and should soon have that available. We do offer Electronic Funds Transfer, which automatically pulls your gift from a checking or savings account each month.
