Event Spotlight Summer Beach Project

Purpose
1. To expand the students’ love for God and their personal experience of Him as they are trained through the teaching of God’s word in the areas of bible study, evangelism, service, and leadership. (Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30)

2. To increase the students’ love for the world by teaching them how to compassionately serve others on the Beach Project, at work, at church, and in the city of Myrtle Beach. (Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37)

3. To grow and develop each student in the area of stewardship as they learn to be responsible working a full-time job, paying rent, and managing their schedule and finances. (His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your master.’ Matthews 25:21)

4. For the students to participate in fulfilling the great commission in the context of the surrounding culture where they live and work. (Then Jesus came to them and said, “all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20)

5. To mobilize effective and equipped spiritual leaders onto the campus and into the world who will labor for the cause of Christ and the glory of God. (The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Matthew 9:37-38)
